Coopetition (collaboration between competing firms) is a phenomenon that has recently captured a great deal of attention due to its increasing relevance to business practice. However, current research on coopetition is still short on explaining how the potential advantages of coopetition can be realized over time as part of an individual firm's business model. In order to gain insights into this, we conduct a longitudinal, in-depth case study on the coopetition-based business models of Amazon.com. We find evidence of three distinct coopetition-based business models: (1) Amazon Marketplace, (2) Amazon Services and Web Services, and (3) the collaboration between Apple and Amazon on digital text platforms. We conclude by forwarding several propositions on how value can be created and captured by involving competitors in a firm's business model. As a whole, the results contribute to the current understanding of how firmsas well as their stakeholderscan better benefit from coopetition.

This paper intends to shed light on the changes that occurred in the coastal landscape of Crete during the period of Transformations (7th-9th centuries AD) with a special focus on ports and harbors. It discusses how these changes reflect the changing social, economic and political conditions in the Aegean Archipelago between the mid-7th and early 9th centuries AD. It tests questions concerning how ports and harbors interacted with one another, with fortified sites, with other places across water, and with maritime navigation. Overall, considering recent historical and archaeological evidence, it aims to shed more light on the period of Transformations, highlighting certain aspects of the resilience and adaptability of the insular communities of Crete. Ports and harbors are not regarded as isolated dots on a map, but instead, they are viewed as parts of various networks with different types of interaction and as cultural products of political, social and economic circumstances. This human-centered approach puts at the center of attention people, their actions and experiences, as well as their engagement with natural environment. Maritime mobility and interaction are considered as key factors of island life. Due to the complexity of the topic, this research adopts an interdisciplinary framework which includes historical and archaeological approaches, combined with spatial analytical tools offered by the Digital Humanities (Geographical Information Systems).
One of the primary concern on the Supply Chain Management(SCM) is the performance measurement because it is evident that there cannot be managed where there cannot be measured in supply chain performance. The Framework of Balanced Score Card(BSC) + Analytic Hierachy Process(AHP) has been proposed for performance measurement in its effective measures and metrics for engineering supply chain.
The implementation of the New General Ledger (New GL) in SAP S/4HANA Simple Finance represents a transformative shift in how financial data is managed and reported within enterprises. This research paper delves into the intricacies of the New GL in the SAP S/4HANA environment, exploring its capabilities, benefits, and the critical steps involved in its successful deployment. Unlike traditional GL systems, the New GL offers enhanced flexibility, real-time data processing, and streamlined reporting functionalities, making it an essential tool for modern financial management. The paper begins by outlining the evolution of the GL from classic SAP ECC to the New GL in SAP S/4HANA, emphasizing the architectural and functional advancements. One of the key features of the New GL is its ability to support parallel accounting, providing organizations with the capability to maintain multiple ledgers for different accounting standards without redundancy. This is particularly beneficial for global enterprises that must comply with various financial regulations across different jurisdictions. Moreover, the integration of the New GL with other SAP modules, such as Controlling (CO) and Asset Accounting (AA), enhances the accuracy and granularity of financial reporting. The unified data model in SAP S/4HANA allows for seamless data flow between modules, reducing the risk of data discrepancies and ensuring that financial reports are both accurate and timely. This integration also facilitates the generation of multi-dimensional reports, enabling decision-makers to gain deeper insights into financial performance. The research further explores the implementation process of the New GL in SAP S/4HANA Simple Finance. It highlights the importance of a comprehensive project plan that includes thorough system analysis, data migration strategies, and end-user training. A key challenge in the implementation is the migration of legacy data from the classic GL to the New GL, which requires careful planning to avoid data loss or inconsistencies. The paper discusses best practices for data migration, including the use of SAP's migration tools and the importance of validating data post-migration. Additionally, the paper examines the benefits of the New GL in the context of financial closing processes. The New GL's ability to automate key processes, such as balance sheet adjustments and currency translation, significantly reduces the time and effort required to close financial periods. This automation not only enhances efficiency but also improves compliance with regulatory requirements.
